But today, children are surrounded by an unprecedented number of voices and influences—from friends and school to social media, culture, and the online world. How can parents remain a meaningful and trusted voice in their children’s lives?

Drawing on her experience working with children, young people and families across different cultures and contexts, Jo Haaijer will introduce some of the challenges she sees families navigating today. Together, we will explore how parents build strong relationships, navigate difficult conversations, and help their children grow in faith, confidence and wisdom.

Gender and identity have become part of everyday conversations for many children and young people. Christian families may know what they believe—but what happens when these questions suddenly become personal? When they enter our homes, friendships and churches?

Drawing on her experience working with children, young people and families, Jo Haaijer will open up some of the questions behind the gender identity conversation and what they mean for families today. How do we move beyond simply having the right answers and learn to engage in conversations that really matter?
