The Hope Leading with Hope and Health Lab is a space to explore the leadership challenges and opportunities that are shaping the Church today. Across three daily Labs, we will focus on three areas of leadership that are often overlooked, difficult to navigate, or emerging in ways we have not yet fully considered.

Lab #1: Partners in the Gospel

What could happen when men and women bring their gifts, perspectives and leadership together for the sake of the Gospel? This seminar will explore the theology, experience and practice of partnership, helping participants develop a biblical understanding of men and women working together, discover both the strengths and challenges of partnership, and learn practical ways to build healthy, effective teams. This is not a debate about complementary or egalitarian leadership—it is an opportunity to imagine, talk about and work through what becomes possible when we learn to lead and serve together. Come ready to be inspired, but also to engage in the conversation. We want to equip each other to take the next step towards creating new partnerships in your own ministry context.

Lab #2: Transition and Succession

How do you react to the word Change? Is it the same as transition? Bill Taylor once said “ Transition is a process not an event. Transitions begin with endings, go through a period of confusion and distress and then lead to a new beginning”

Moving from the old trusted and tried to the new and unknown can be very uncomfortable and challenging for those involved. A leader needs to find a way through, a way to motivate, inspire and care for the spectrum of those affected whilst having a clear picture and plan for the future.

Succession planning is one of trickiest activities and is fraught with danger to the organisation if not handled well.

Join us as we explore the nature and define the stages of transition, consider the challenges and ways of leading an organisation through transition and investigate how to organise and lead successful succession planning. There will be lots of interaction as well as case studies to stimulate your thinking.

Lab #3: Intergenerational and Intercultural

What could happen when different cultures and generations bring their experiences, perspectives and leadership together for the sake of the Gospel? This Hope Lab will explore the opportunities and challenges of leading across cultural and generational differences, helping us to develop a deeper understanding of how culture and generation shape the way we lead, communicate and work together. We’ll discover the strengths that diversity can bring, explore some of the tensions and misunderstandings that can arise, and consider practical ways to build trust, foster belonging and release the gifts of people from different cultures and generations. This is an opportunity to listen, learn and discover what becomes possible when we make space for perspectives different from our own. Come ready to be challenged, inspired and equipped to take the next step towards building more intercultural and intergenerational leadership models in your own ministry context.
